PRELUDE           Vaga luna che'inargenti     Patrick Mahowald

* Sanctus (pew card)

* CALL TO WORSHIP                                       Helmut Beron

The earth is the LORD’s and all that is in it,

the world, and those who live in it;

for God has founded it on the seas,

and established it on the rivers.

Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD?

And who shall stand in his holy place?

Those who have clean hands and pure hearts,

who do not lift up their souls to what is false,

and do not swear deceitfully.

* HYMN No. 661                                                           Be Strong in the Lord

Forgive us our sins, O Lord.

Forgive us the sins of our youth and the sins of our age,

the sins of our soul and the sins of our body,

the sins we have done to please ourselves,

and the sins we have done to please others.

Forgive us the sins that we know,

and the sins that we know not.

Forgive them, O Lord,

forgive them all because of your great goodness.

(Prayers of Silent Confession)

Kyrie (sung): Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

Christ, have mercy. Christ, have mercy.

Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

This is the message we have heard from God

and proclaim to you:

that God is light and in God there is no darkness at all.

If we walk in the light, as God is in the light,

we have fellowship with one another,

and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.

We are forgiven! We will seek to live in the light and

in fellowship with God and with one another!

HYMN No. 43                                  A Mighty Fortress is our God

Prayer of Illumination

O gracious God and most merciful Father,

you have given us the rich

and precious jewel of your holy Word.

Assist us with your Spirit, that it may be written in our hearts to our everlasting comfort,

to reform us, to renew us according to your own image,

to build us up into the perfect building of Christ,

and to increase in us all heavenly virtues.

Grant this, O heavenly Father, for the sake of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Beloved in the Lord Jesus Christ, do you receive

in the name of the Lord, these deacons and elders

as duly elected and ordained servants of Christ?

We do.

Do you promise to respect them for the sake of the

offices for which they have been chosen and ordained?

We do.

Do you promise to encourage and pray for them,

to labor together in obedience to the gospel for the

unity, purity, and peace of the church, the welfare

of the whole world, and the honor of our

Lord Jesus Christ?

We do.

(Johanna Mason, Soloist)

Here I am waiting, abide in me, I pray
Here I am longing for You
Hide me in Your love, bring me to my knees
May I know Jesus more and more

Come live in me all my life, take over

Come breathe in me, I will rise on eagle's wings

Come live in me all my life, take over

Come breathe in me, I will rise on eagle's wings.

Summer Worship

Beginning July 7th, and continuing through Labor Day Sunday, September 1st, the services will begin at 10:00 A.M.

New Office Administrator

Molly Mahowald has been hired as the new, part-time Office Administrator! Molly will begin her role on Monday, July 15. The new church office hours will be 12:30-5:30, Monday through Friday. Stop by and greet Molly if you get a chance!

A little about Molly:

I was born into the Church on the Hill community 24 years ago and have cherished every moment. From singing in the youth choir as a toddler, attending Sunday School and YPF, to leading Children and Worship and now working as the new Office Administrator, Church on the Hill has always played a major role in my life.

I graduated Brooklyn College with a degree in Speech-Language Pathology. This year, I received my yoga certification and currently teach privately and as a substitute teacher for the Church on the Hill class. I love learning so I plan to continue my yoga training and possibly go back to school to expand my knowledge of health and wellness.

When I’m not at Church on the Hill, you can find me on Long Beach, hiking, or gardening with my dog, Teddy, cat, Galadriel, and fiancé, Anthony.

I am so grateful and looking forward to working with Church on the Hill, an organization that truly values the service of our world community.
