*CALL TO WORSHIP Margret Dougherty
Arise, shine, for your light has come!
The glory of the Lord has risen upon us.
Let us praise the Lord together.
The sun shall no longer be our light by day,
nor will the brightness of the moon shine on us,
for the Lord will be our light,
and our God will be our glory.
The Lord will be our everlasting light,
and our days of sorrow will end.
Come, let us sing to our light and salvation!
HYMN No. 2 Holy, Holy Holy! Lord God Almighty
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Loving God,
In Jesus Christ, your kingdom has drawn near and you have called us to repent.
Turn our hearts and minds back to you.
In Jesus Christ, your light has dawned on all of creation.
Forgive us when we choose to walk in the darkness.
In Jesus Christ, you call the nations to come and worship you.
Forgive us when we restrict access to you and your grace.
In Jesus Christ, you loosen the bonds of injustice and set your people free.
Forgive us when our actions harm and oppress.
In Jesus Christ, your good and perfect law is fulfilled.
Forgive us when we fail to live according to your will.
(Prayers of Silent Confession)
Kyrie (sung):
Choral Leader: Lord, have mercy.
Congregation: Lord, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Christ, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
Lord, have mercy.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON/WISDOM FOR LIFE
Hear these words of Jesus:
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
You are the salt of the earth. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hid.
What does the LORD ask of us?
To do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with our God.

OFFERING OURSELVES AND OUR GIFTS
Offertory
The Old Hundredth Psalm Tune R. Vaughan Williams
All people that on earth do dwell,
sing to the Lord with cheerful voice;
Him serve with joy His praise forth tell,
Come ye before Him, and rejoice
The Lord, ye know, is God indeed,
Without our aid He did us make;
We are his folk, he doth us feed,
And for his sheep he doth us take.
O enter then his gates with praise,
Approach with joy his courts unto;
Praise, laud, and bless his name always,
For it is seemly so to do.
For why? the Lord our God is good:
His mercy is forever sure;
His truth at all times firmly stood,
And shall from age to age endure.
To Father, Son, and Holy Ghost,
The God whom heaven and earth adore,
From men and from the angel host
Be praise and glory forever more. Amen.
