You won victory over death,

raising Jesus from the grave

and giving us eternal life.

Glory to you, O God!

For us and for our salvation you overcame death

and opened the gate to everlasting life.

Glory to you, O Christ!

You lead us into the truth.

now and forever!

Lord Jesus Christ:

Bring new life where we are worn and tired;

new love where we have turned hard-hearted;

forgiveness where we feel hurt and where we have wounded; and the joy and freedom of your Holy Spirit where we are prisoners of ourselves and our sins.

(Prayers of Silent Confession)

Kyrie (sung): Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Christ, have mercy. Lord, have mercy. Lord, have mercy.

ANTHEM:           King All-Glorious                           George M. Vail

                           Soloist - Elizabeth Mahowald

Rejoice, the Lord is King! Your Lord and King adore!

Mortals, give thanks and sing, and triumph evermore.

Jesus the Savior reigns, the God of truth and love:

When he had purged our stains, He took a seat above.

Lift up your heart! Lift up your voice! The Lord is King!

King all-glorious, Lord of Hosts almighty,

Thou art revealed in victory, o'er all the world ascended,

King all-glorious! Thou art revealed in victory.

Crown him with many crowns,

The Lamb upon His throne;

Hark! How the heavenly anthem

drowns all music but its own:

Awake, my soul, and sing

of him who died for thee,

And hail Him as thy matchless King

Through all eternity. Amen.

Response                                                           Celtic Alleluia

* HYMN No. 240                               Alleluia, Alleluia! Give Thanks

Prayer of Illumination

O Christ,

who lived to show what life is like,

who died to show that sin is death,

who rose to raise us up to life eternal,

help us to follow you and love you forever. Amen.

Psalm 97                                                                         p.   480

     Offertory:        God So Loved The World              John Stainer

God so loved the world,

That he gave His only begotten Son,

That who-so believeth in Him

should not perish,

but have everlasting life.

For God sent not His Son

into the world to condemn the world;

But that the world through him might be saved.
