* CALL TO WORSHIP        Pam Lopez

Surely God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid;

For the LORD GOD is my strength and my might.

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation. And you will say in that day:

Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known God’s deeds among the nations.

Sing praises to the LORD, for he has done gloriously; let this be known in all the earth.

Shout aloud and sing for joy, for the great God is in our midst!

* HYMN No. 517    The Solid Rock

* PRAYER OF CONFESSION

God of life, we come to you as a people hungry for good news. We have been so dead to your work among us that we have missed you making all things new. We have preoccupied ourselves with pleasures and have overlooked the joy you offer us. We have been so concerned with making a living that we have missed the life you set among us. Forgive us, gracious God. Open our lips and hands to share your gift with all humanity in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

* CONFESSION OF FAITH:        Based on the Canons of Dort III/IV, 11

God infuses new qualities into the human will, making the dead will alive, the evil one good, the unwilling one willing, and the stubborn one compliant. God activates and strengthens the will so that, like a good tree, it may be enabled to produce the fruits of good deeds.
