* CALL TO WORSHIP Connie Thorsen
Praise the LORD! I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart, in the company of the upright, in the congregation.
Great are the works of the LORD, studied by all who delight in them.
Full of honor and majesty is God’s work, and his righteousness endures forever.
The works of God’s hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy.
They are established forever and ever, to be performed with faithfulness and uprightness.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever.
* HYMN No. 328 God's Holy Ways Are Just and True
* PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of love and justice, we long for peace within and peace without. We long for harmony in our families and for serenity in the midst of struggle. We long for the day when our world will be a dwelling place for your love. Yet we confess that we are often anxious, we do not trust each other, and we harbor resentment and violence. We are not willing to take the risks and make the sacrifices that love requires. Look upon us with kindness and grace. Rule in our homes and in all the world; show us how to walk in your paths, through themercy of our Savior. Amen.

* CONFESSION OF FAITH: From the Belhar Confession, Article 3
We believe that God’s life-giving Word and Spirit has conquered the powers of sin and death, and therefore also of irreconciliation and hatred, bitterness and enmity, and that God’s life-giving Word and Spirit will enable the church to live in a new obedience which can open new possibilities of life for society and the world.
